A book about the art of communication by Zhao Qizheng, former director of the State Council Information Office and now dean of the School of Journalism in Renmin University, will come out on New Year's Eve, said a source from China.com.cn.

A book about the art of communication by Zhao Qizheng, former director of the State Council Information Office and now dean of the School of Journalism in Renmin University, will come out on New Year's Eve.

Consisting of seven parts, including the establishment of good ties with other countries and defining China's position in the international community, the book is a collection of speeches and interviews that Zhao made on various occasions as well as an appraisal of Zhao's communication skills from medias home and abroad.

Zhao was head of the State Council Information Office before he was appointed as dean of the School of Journalism in Renmin University this November. Earlier, he worked as a civil servant in Shanghai.

During his career as a government press official, he was popular for his frank but graceful communicative style among medias.

Zhao Qizheng, former director of the State Council Information Office and now dean of the School of Journalism in Renmin University, signs his name on his book.

In this book, for several times Zhao looks at the problem of "how China should communicate with the world" and presents his own thoughts and practice. He urges further exploration in the area of foreign communication against the backdrop of a China that, while rising, is, in his words, not very good at communicating with others.

The book is the sequel to Zhao's interview collection published in 2004, a bestseller that have been reprinted several times since publication.
