Huawei and Chery launch new Luxeed car models

Huawei Technologies Co and Chinese car maker Chery jointly unveiled latest Luxeed auto models to attract young consumers, in their latest push to stand out amid intensified competitions.
Yu Chengdong, Huawei's executive director and chairman of its device business group, hailed the Luxeed series as "the smarter choice for young individuals and families in the intelligent era."
He made the remarks at an event featuring Luxeed brand ambassador Liu Yifei, a famous actress, held in Shanghai on Friday.
According to him, the cumulative orders for Luxeed vehicles have exceeded 130,000 units, underscoring the brand's focus on delivering "stylish, drivable, intelligent, and safe cars."
Yin Tongyue, chairman of Chery, emphasized the collaboration between Huawei and Chery, saying, "Luxeed is a brand co-created by Huawei and Chery to win the hearts of young consumers. We prioritize allocating top-tier research and development talents and engineering resources to Luxeed."
Previously, the Huawei-Chery joint initiative had launched three models: the Luxeed S7, Luxeed R7, and Luxeed S9, targeting the premium EV market with advanced connectivity and autonomous driving features powered by Huawei's HarmonyOS ecosystem.
The event highlights Huawei's aggressive push into the smart EV sector amid intensifying competition in China's auto market. Analysts note that the Luxeed's integration of Huawei's tech prowess and Chery's manufacturing expertise positions it as a key contender in the premium EV segment.
