China congratulates Daniel Noboa for winning Ecuador presidential race

China on Wednesday congratulated Daniel Noboa on his success in being re-elected as Ecuador's president.
"It is believed that under the leadership of President Noboa, the national economic and social development of Ecuador will constantly make new achievements," Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said at a regular news conference in Beijing on Wednesday.
Ecuador is a comprehensive strategic partner of China, and this year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
"China attaches great importance to developing friendly relations with Ecuador," Lin said.
Beijing is ready to work with the new Ecuadorian government to push forward China-Ecuador relations for the better benefit of the two countries and peoples, he said.
Noboa, the incumbent president of Ecuador, was re-elected in the second round of the presidential election held on Sunday for a four-year term, according to the initial results released by the National Electoral Council.
Noboa, 37, gained 55.92 percent of the vote with 92.64 percent of ballots counted, while his opponent, the leftist Luisa Gonzalez earned 44.08 percent, according to Xinhua News Agency.
