China deepens reforms to improve digital innovation

China will ratchet up efforts to deepen reforms related to the market-oriented allocation of data elements and improve the basic systems for data, as part of its broader drive to facilitate the development of the digital economy this year, according to the country's top data governance regulator.
The National Data Administration said on Tuesday that more push will be made to bolster the development and utilization of data resources in an orderly manner, speed up the construction of digital infrastructure, such as the national integrated computing power networks, and press ahead with the mega data project dubbed the "east-data-west-computing".
China will work to promote the deep integration of sci-tech innovation and industrial innovation, nurture a batch of digital industry clusters with global competitiveness and local characteristics, as well as support the technological innovation and industrial application of artificial intelligence, said the administration.
The administration also stressed the need to propel the in-depth integration of the real economy and digital economy, advance the regulated and healthy development of the platform economy and strengthen international cooperation in the digital economy domain.
